Privacy Policy

Claire Mackenzie is referred to as "I" or "me" in this policy.

I respect the EU’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and this policy explains how I collect and treat any information you give me. You will not find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. I’ve no desire to trick you into agreeing to something you might later regret.

This policy provides you with information about how I collect your data, how I use and hold your information and how I safeguard your privacy and your legal rights relating to your personal information 

I value your privacy

I value your privacy as much as I do my own, so I’m committed to keeping your personal and business information safe. I’m uncomfortable with the information companies, governments, and other organisations keep on file, so I ask for only the bare minimum from my clients. I’ll never use your personal information for any reason other than why you gave it, and I’ll never give anyone access to it unless I’m forced to by law.

How I collect information

If you are a coaching client, I will collect data about you in the form of;

  • Your name, contact details, Skype username, email address, postal address including billing and delivery addresses and telephone numbers when you buy something from me

  • Contact information including your name, email address, and phone number, on my website so that I can reply to your enquiry

  • Your communication and marketing preferences

  • Your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses

My website does not use cookies or scripts that were designed to track the websites you visit. I do not use analytics or native social media ‘like’ or ‘sharing’ buttons which also build profiles of your internet activity.

I collect your email address when you sign up one of my newsletters.

While using my website, I may collect information about you, such as your IP address, details about your browser (i.e Safari, Chrome, Firefox), the amount of time you spend on the pages of my website, your page views and navigation paths, details about the number of times you use my website, time zone settings and other technology on the devices you use to access my website. The source of this data is from the analytics tracking system I use called SquareSpace Analytics. I process this data to analyse your use of my website to administer and protect my business and website, to deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you, and to understand the effectiveness of my advertising.

What do I use your information for?

I will use the data you provide me to contact you via email, Zoom, Skype or telephone for the purposes of communicating with you within the context of coaching together.

If you signed up to my free materials via a contact form on my website, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, your email address and name will be stored in the Mailerlite email system which I am currently using. I will send you information via MailerLite emails/newsletter for the purpose of communications You will not be subscribed to any other email subscription list unless you personally signed up to them.  

I will not share your information with any other third parties for their own marketing purposes.  You have the option to unsubscribe from these communications and at any time and I will not send them to you again. 

I will use your information to send you invoices, statements, or reminders.

What information I hold

  • When you contact me by email or through my website, I collect your name, email address, phone number, a social media username, and the company you work for, if you’ve given that information.

  • If you sign up for a newsletter, I only collect your email address.

  • When you buy a coaching session or a coaching package from me, I collect your name, email address, phone number, and a delivery address.

  • If you do business with me, I also keep records of the invoices I send you and the payments you make using Wave, a company I use for accounting purposes to run my business.

  • All purchases are processed by UK or International bank transfer and I never have access to your credit card information.

  • I do not collect any sensitive data about you i.e. data that includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data. I also do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

  • I will only keep hold of your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes I collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements

  • For tax purposes the law requires me to keep basic information about my clients (including contact information, financial and transaction data) for six years after they stop being clients.

Where I store your information

I use security software to protect my website infrastructure and strive to protect your data in all means reasonably required by me to do so.  When I store information in my own system, only the people who need it have access. 

The steps take to keep your information private

Where I store your information in third-party services, I restrict access only to people who need it. I store passwords LastPass an encrypted password manager and use a different, randomly generated password for each service

The computer I use is protected by a passcode. This computer asks for authentication whenever it’s started or after 10 minutes of inactivity. My mobile devices are also protected by a passcode and fingerprint authentication.

If you are not satisfied with my response or believe I am not processing your Information not in accordance with the law, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office https://ico.org.uk/

Changes to the policy

If I change the contents of this policy, those changes will become effective the moment I publish them on my website.
